EMERGING VOCAL SENSATION, MANE TAKES CENTRE STAGE TO KICK OFF ADL FASHION WEEK

ADL Fashion Week (AFW) 2023 is just days away, and with anticipation high, a free live performance by the sensational local indie pop artist, MANE will set the stage for an unforgettable three-day long festival program.

Presented by the Adelaide Economic Development Agency and supported by the City of Adelaide, the free event will be hosted by media and lifestyle personality Belinda Sloane and see MANE perform songs from her recently released EP Caught in the Undertow, as well as 2020 debut EP Coping Mechanisms. Everyone is welcome to attend the public launch of AFW this Friday 20 October at 5 pm at the Gawler Place Canopy in Rundle Mall.

"MANE is an emerging star and quickly becoming a South Australian icon. We are thrilled to have her perform live and free in Rundle Mall to launch ADL Fashion Week,” says Executive Manager, Rundle Mall, Andrew White.

MANE, real name Paige Court, gained mainstream airplay with her 2019 breakout hit Chasing Butterflies. The track has clocked up more than two million streams and hit the Spotify Viral chart top 10, peaking at number seven. Most recently, new EP Caught in the Undertow was named Rolling Stone Australia’s Record of the Week in September. It is a sneak peek of MANE’s full show to be played the following night at the Grace Emily, which kickstarts her national Caught in the Undertow tour (playing Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, and Wollongong).

“It’s so exciting to put on a show in my hometown and to have the honour of officially launching the festival,” says MANE. “AFW is a true testament to our city's passion for innovation and the incredible talent and creativity of our local fashion industry. The festival gives a platform to emerging artists like myself and celebrates the diversity of our local creative industry spanning across fashion, beauty, visual and performing arts.”

Preceded by an official Welcome to Country by Uncle Major ‘Moogy’ Sumner, the performance from MANE will officially launch the AFW festival for 2023. AFW is expected to attract shoppers and visitors from across South Australia to the city.
